Join us for a tradition that starts now. San Francisco Good Neighbor Week is an annual celebration that honors connection, kindness, and community in San Francisco. This volunteer-run event brings together neighborhood leaders, elected officials, civic tech entrepreneurs, tech-for-good champions, social media influencers, and community-oriented residents to celebrate everyday acts of community-building across San Francisco neighborhoods. 2025 is the first year San Francisco is celebrating this national holiday that President Jimmy Carter started in 1978.

We have 40+ influential community partners putting on events, recognizing neighborhood leaders, creating resources for San Francisco residents to meet their neighbors, and hosting the country’s first Good Neighbor Tech and Innovation night. Bus stop ads promoting SF Good Neighbor Week are posted across San Francisco throughout the month of September.

Word of mouth is traveling fast and community leaders are excited about participating and partnering with the city’s first Good Neighbor Week. Our website has had hundreds of unique daily visitors since we launched. Event banners are projected to reach 1000+ event attendees in 2025. Our event apparel will be worn by more than 200 community leaders and event participants throughout SF Good Neighbor Week, and as a keepsake worn long after the week concludes. Eight local newsrooms are participating in SF Good Neighbor Week.
