Our inaugural Good Neighbor Awards recognize our San Francisco neighbors who make uncompensated significant contributions to improve the quality of life in their neighborhoods.

Do you have a neighbor who shows everyday acts of care? Someone who lends a hand, looks out for their neighbors, or works together to build a more connected and compassionate city? Help us recognize San Francisco residents who build connection, kindness, and community in our city! Nominate them for the 2025 San Francisco Good Neighbor Awards! During our very first San Francisco Good Neighbor Week—a citywide celebration of residents who strengthen their communities— one nominee from each supervisorial district will be selected for a special commendation. Nominee names may be shared with their local neighborhood group for additional recognition. The nomination deadline is Sep 12, 2025, 11:59pm PT.

Rules:

  • We encourage San Francisco residents to nominate someone who lives in their building or on their block (our goal is to encourage neighbors nominating their actual neighbors. If you really want to nominate someone who lives further away, you can!).

  • Individuals can not nominate themselves.

  • Nominees may not be compensated for the actions described in the nominations.

  • Elected officials may not participate as nominees.

  • Have fun!
