GOOD NEIGHBOR AWARD
The John Bouvier Good Neighbor Award honors a San Francisco resident who hosts a weekly gathering for their neighbors. This award is in memory of John Bouvier, an Inner Sunset resident who hosted 280 weekly gatherings for his neighbors, before he passed away in August 2025. The John Bouvier Good Neighbor Award Winner receives a special commendation and small financial award.

You can read about John and the impact he had on his Inner Sunset neighbors from the words of his friend Greg. John died during the nomination period for our 2025 Good Neighbor Awards, just as we were getting ready for our very first SF Good Neighbor Week. We were flooded with Inner Sunset residents nominating John for the Good Neighbor Award. Reading the nominations made us want to do more than give John an “In Memoriam” award. So we decided to create a named award to honor John and establish him as part of the SF Good Neighbor Week tradition.
